rapid weight loss in horse

What could cause a horse to go from a 6 on the Hennke scale to a 3 in less than a month. Wormed 2 weeks ago with ivermectrin. Feed hasn't changed, in fact was increased at time of worming. 11 year old mare

Simple things would be teeth, like an abscess or something very painful. If you haven't noticed a Decrease in appetite, neurological issues such as epm can cause rapid weight loss.

So can Lyme, and so can stress, I would PowerPac this horse, use a probiotic, and try
Renew Gold feed by MannaPro and make sure that it is getting all it wants in the quality
hay department.

This happened 2 years ago. We did euthanize Misty. The vet felt that she ha more than likely consumed a toxic weed. We knew we had buttercups, but also found horsenettle and pokeweed.
