You might want to try gastro shield it is a relatively new product, that is
all natural, I know many who have had great success with it and it seems
to improve the overall health the individual. I give it to all my horses
daily. go to www.horseulcers.com for a lot of good info, You will see a difference in 7 to 10 days, if you follow the directions, then I put an ounce in there feed daily for a maintenance. Comes in a glass gallon jug & tastes like apples with a lot of good herbs.

In humans, aside from severe stress, most ulcers are caused by a particular kind of bacteria, Helicobactor pylorii. In fact, the Aussie doctors who isolated this strain and showed it to be causing ulcers won a Nobel prize this year.

Since one can be born infected with H. pylorii, I would not be surprised if there were a similar bacteria present in horses, and that a foal could be born infected.
