Back to banamine, thats a really scary tale Maralyn. I had been told in school that a horse just drops, what happened to you would probly scar me for life :(

HOOF ABCESS

I treat with a drawing poultice-like sugardine after opening a draining track and maybe systemic antibiotic--and prayer. Sometimes, no matter what you do you lose the horse to bone infection. Its best if you can start treatment early and a lot easier to treat if you not fighting the side affects of founder. Mary Syers
