EIA Not EPM. Woops! Not thinking.

I didn't know this. The virus that causes EIA is only active (alive) on the carrier (host fly) for a maximum of 30 minutes. That's extraordinary. I had no idea. Source: Article, Pg 26, USPC News/Winter 2006.

Lindros: I so sorry. When I read the article, I must have been thinking EPM. I've edited above with the source. Anyway you look at it, the lifespan of the virus to infect a horse is extremely limited. It's a wonder it survives long enough to infect just one horse. Thank God for Coggins.
