Is there another name for this? What is it and what does this do to a horse?

Adrenergic

I believe this is a drug that is used to treat asthma and serves as a bronchio-dilator. I also believe it lowers blood pressure so that it may decrease the chance of bleeding during a race or training much as lasix.

Hmm. Ephedrine is a primary component used to make meth... it mas caused cold medicine, previously just over-the-counter, to be sold by parmacists (dispensed) on a one pkg per customer basis.

any drug that sounds like ephedrine has some form of ephedrine in it. Ephedrine will help asthma, although it would not be the first line drung of choice. Additionally, ephedrine's action on the heart will both increase the rate and increase the contractility and therefor will not lower blood pressure but raise it.
