Is it safe to say that those countries with smaller horse populations are more likely to increase the pool of inbred horses, no?

Hello,
I noted the higher tendency to closer inbreeding/linebreeding in my home Country.

Your broodmare Population was always small, is still small and will be pretty small compared to big Thoroughbredbreeding countries. It#s harder to avoid inbreeding. On the other hand it's easier to "identify" a very good broodmare in a shorter time. Of course her offspring must show their ability on the racetrack.

If this Kind of breeding haven't shown some merit, our breeders have choosen different ways to bred their thoroughbreds.

An example og interesting inbreeding/linebreeding is "Anna Paola" (by Prince Ippi). A very good race filly and even better broodmare.

Hello,
recently I mentioned Laccario (Scalo-Laccata by Lomitas).
He has won the "150th German Derby" at Hamburg/Horn last Sunday.

The 'German Derby Winner' in 2017 "Windstoss (by Shirocco) is inbred
3x3 Königsstuhl and his Granddam "Well Known" is 3x3 Tamerlane.

This is the closest Inbreeding I think I've ever seen = 2 x 2. Disco Partner bred to a daughter of Disco Rico. Mare - Image of Noon by Disco Rico is Hip 37 at Keeneland Jan23, in foal to son of Disco Rico. Can't imagine what this buyer might have to deal with. This is what they used to do in the 1700s.
