Pedigree Analysis - PLS HELP

Postby Vince515 » Mon Oct 02, 2006 8:32 am

Hi All,

I'm new to breeding and need some help deciphering the conduit mare profile numbers. I have a broodmare with some decent pedigree. I did a hypo mating with CACTUS RIDGE and came up with the following.
Conduit Mare Profile=7-5-6-7-4 Speed=12 stamina=11 Index=1.19 Triads=18-18-17

The DP=5-2-5-0-0 (12) DI=3.80 CD=1.00 GSV=55.82

The Broodmare's name is IM COUNTRY (1991) by REAL COURAGE out of SWAMP DANCE.

Any input or other sire suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to keep the Stud fee below $10,000.

Regards
Thanks
Vince

Hi, Vince. Sharon from Oklahoma here, but I have a mare currently in New York named Spanish Guitar at the Pucker Ridge Farm, Warrensburg.

I have updated your first three dams' progeny records in the database, but new ones won't show up until tomorrow. Unfortunately, most was less than exciting, so I didn't record the descendants of any second generation ladies unless significant, or that of their daughters, that were not directly in your mare's pedigree. My APR is current through 2004, and also included some European and Puerto Rican relatives.

My opinion-- save your money and spend time saving it for a better value later. Your mare has been a poor producer, and you won't see the racing fruit of your decision until at least 2010 or later. So many factors play a role in sabotaging breeding and racing plans, so any shortcut usually is regretted later.

Consider claiming a mare from the track and retiring her to your broodmare band as your first investment. Or maybe buy an in-foal mare at a sale.

Good luck, and don't take it personally. This is an expensive and very risky business; don't cut corners with the quality of your "factory".

I've sent you a PM (private message)

This mare (I'm Country) has already proved herself, being the dam of multiple stakes winner, Golden Made (11 wins and $312,255 in earnings) and Country Music (0ver 60 starts and in excess of $200,00 in earnings). She is definitely worth breeding on. Her dam is a half sibling to stakes winner, and G2 stakes placed, Computers Choice. Good catalog page.
Rocking H, am I looking at the wrong mare?
