Broodmare
NICELY WILD her dam has been bred to some pretty nice stallions and has produced well with them. The mare deserves a chance as a broodmare, hard knocking runner, and female family is alright. Do you own her? Her pedigree looks like built for speed, is that where she did the best in her racing career? If so, and she is in Fl you might want to consider Successful Ways by Successful Appeal who stands his first season at Ups and Downs Farm in Citra near Ocala. Of course I am prejudiced somewhat as we own him. That said, we are very proud of him and expect big things from his foals. Check him out, he was undefeated at 2, in 2 good races. Stepped wrong on the track while training for the Holy Bull Stakes or he may well have been in the Derby... not to be, but he is well bred and loved to run!
His sire was a grade II winner at 2, 3, and 4, Champion Florida-bred sprinter in 1999. Successful Appeal was the leading freshman sire of 2004 with $1,727,557 in progeny earnings and six stakes winners from a crop of just 37 foals in 2004. The son of Valid Appeal stood his first few seasons in Florida. His first season in 2001 at Walmac FL. but was moved to Walmac Farm near Lexington for the 2005 breeding season and his fee has jumped from $6,000 to $25,000, to $40,000 for 2007. Successful Appeal son Closing Arguement (2nd in the Derby)has moved to Kentucky also and his stud fee is now $12,500.
We believe Successful Ways will be well represented at the tracks and his foals will do well in the sales ring also. His female family is full of SW's also. We will advertise him and promote him to the best of our ability and hope he gets the support from mare owners in Florida like his sire and Closing Argument did before him. We are raising foals to race from some pretty good mares and believe his fee is priced fairly for his introdutory season. He will stay in Florida as long as he gets mare support!
All that said I think the mare you asked about would do well with a speed sire. Merry Christmas and best of luck!
