Champion Stakes and Irish 2000 Guineas winner, Hugh Lupus (1952), and successful sire (UK classic winners Hethersett and Pourparler) has a pretty tasty pedigree for inbreeding buffs to get ther teeth into.

If you add Elf, Hugh Lupus has a rather spectacular number of Dollar lines. It's no wonder he is so important in jumping/eventing sport TBs.

Actually, DOMINO's own pedigree is a beautiful example of inbreeding. although I agree his 2nd dam's 2 x 3 REEL and 3 x 4-4 GLENCOE is powerful.

This has got to be the most intensely inbred/linebred to Janus I have ever seen. There was one female line that linked to him(Spot, a mare) through family A9. What I am wondering is how many QHs lines have this horse in it?

Mable Tet, A9, was a good QH producer, including Bart B S Ch. Quarter Running Stallion 1951. Hard to say how much of that had to do with an early 19th cent. sire inbred to *Janus. Family A9 persisted through the days of mile or more heat racing, and produced KD winner Aristides, but achieved greater success in the QH. Mable Tet's dam had some of the close inbreeding that a handful of Texas breeders favored in the early 20th cent.

Twice leading U.S. sire.

Notice the intense inbreeding in his second dam.

Yeah, but to be honest, a $3000 claimer in the late 1960s was a better horse than a $3000 claimer running today.

The name Dave's Friend rings a bell. I probably watched him race at some time. I was glad to read that he enjoyed a long, happy retirement!

Hello,
here in Germany won a thoroughbred named Copmmander Kirk (Holy Roman Emperor)a small race. He is bred 2 x 2 Danehill/Quick to Please. I wasn't aware the outstandfing Sire Danehill has a FS.

Best regards, Bettina

LEVEL PLAYINGFIELD: Multiple graded stakes winner of $664,000. 44 starts in 5 years, top-class sprinter.

http://www.pedigreequery.com/level+playingfield

Neither his sire or unraced dam produced any other quality racehorses even when bred to so-called "fashion" breeding stock.
