Hello,
a very inbred broodmare turned out with her descents as excellent producers.

Her name is Goldhenne (= Golden Hen!). She is bred 1x2 Birkhahn/Burgermeister (3/4 Brothers), 2x3 Bramouse and 3x3 Herold
Her Granddaughter Grimpola (by Windwurf) is bred 3x3x4 Birkhahn/Burgermeister, 3x4 Neckar, 4x4x5 Bramouse
Gonfalon 3x4x4 Birkhahn, she is the dam of Gonbarda (Group I winner, dam of Farhh), Gonfilia, Gorlor, Gondoro etc.

2x2 Domino If he's the horse I'm remembering, Hewitt said he couldn't last much past 4.5f.

Iirc, there were additional issues, including bleeding, that kept Ultimus unraced. His son High Time, described as "the most intensely in-bred stallion in America if not the world", brought another cross of Domino to the mix but he could and did get blacktype 5f at 2 and, of course, was a very successful sire.

Take a look at her foals. I have never seen a recent pedigree with only 37% unique ancestors in the 9th generation. COI of almost 8%.
Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.
