Affordable Pedigree software

I am considering a new project. All the horses in it would have TB ancestry, but few would be full TB. What I would like the software to do is calculate the percentages of each TB in the horse's ancestry. Does such software exist? I know that PQs software can do this for TBs, but what about TB crosses? Does the Allbreed software have this same capacity? Could I subscribe to both and get what I need? Sport Horse Breed Database used to have something similar available, but I don't think their new software does. If I were to buy a software package, I would have to manually input each pedigree all the way to the back, and that is far more than I could ever do.

Could someone here suggest a process or software that would make this project work?

Hey VR

What you're looking for here is not so much the software, but the raw data of which horses are tbs and what their pedigree is.

If you had that (raw data) of who was a TB, you would know who was not. Then with your TEST horse it would be a simple series of calculations (you can do this in code) -

Say for simplicity each percentage of being TB blood - 1 point.

Select sire1, if sire1 1 is TB then add 50 points. If sire is TB then stop calculation on this line.
If sire is TB then add 50 points. If dam is a TB then stop calculation on this line.
If grand sire (sire side) is TB add 25 points etc. going through the entire known pedigree of each horse that is not TB.
--- all the way through as many generations as you want to go.
Add up the points.

Or something like that. I could build it in Access if I had the raw data. You would have to know the pedigree of your TEST horse access to all that data as well. Lots of 'quarter horses' have a lot of TB blood.

What I'd really like to be able to do is calculate the percentages of Herod, Matchem and Eclipse, as well as the percentages of ancestor horse in a particular pedigree where many of the horses are not full TBs.
