One For Les Brinsfield

Postby Jeff » Sun Dec 30, 2018 10:48 am

Here's one for my old dearly departed buddy Les Brinsfield. Hip #71 at California Thoroughbred Breeders Association January Mixed sale on 16 Jan 2019. https://www.pedigreequery.com/lavender+charm

Sex balanced line breeding in the 4th generation to a superior ancestor; https://www.pedigreequery.com/weber+city+miss ,and Weber City Miss herself is bred on Les's favorite scheme, sex balanced line breeding in the 4th generation through the great Princequillo.

Weber City Miss
At 2:
Won Cameo S.
At 3:
Won Hilltop S., Black-Eyed Susan S. [G2]
2nd Flirtation S., Monmouth Oaks [G2], Test S. [G2], Alabama S. [G1], Honey Bee H.
3rd Ladies H. [G1]

At 4:
Won Geisha H., Molly Pitcher H. [G2], Hannah Dustin H., Miss Liberty H.
2nd Shuvee H. [G2], Long Look H. [G2]
3rd Thoroughbred Club Dinner S., Top Flight H. [G1], Matron H. [G2]

At 5:
Won Beldame S. [G1]
2nd Ladies H. [G1]

Foaled 13 March 1977.
1980: NTR, Laurel Park, 8.5f in 1:43 4/5.

The reason I keep subscribing to pedigreequery, year after year after year since the 1990"s, just for the joy of getting to look at such and exquisite pedigree. 2nd dam a daughter of Mr. P no less.

Les Brinsfield would have been proud to call the mating that produced Lavender Charm his own idea. Hat's off to whomever
planned the breeding. One for Les. Rest in peace old friend.

That is a clever mating indeed. The inbreeding to Mr P with Fappiano as one of the conduits is also, I think, a King Les recommendation.
