Opinions on this Potential Broodmare Are Appreciated

Postby johnrr88 » Tue Aug 23, 2005 10:11 am

Her name is Lochrea...unraced 6 y/o by Lord at War out of a stakes mare and a very interesting Argentinian family with lots of activity.
She has a 2y/o Out of Place colt who sold for 52k at KeeNov2003.She has a yearling by Our Emblem (trying the War Chant nick I guess) :
1. What's she worth?
2. Opinions on Lord at War as a Broodmare Sire
3. Opinions on female family?

Thanks to all!

I think she's a nice prospect. Lord at War is a very good broodmare sire. And this filly comes from a good family. Her full sister, Added Asset, was a good stakes filly in the midwest, that I saw run a number of times. Without seeing the mare, and without knowing whether she's in foal, it's hard to say how much she would be worth, but empty, I think she's worth around $75,000. Her half sister has a debut two year old winner by Giant's Causeway that is probably going to be a stakes horse as well, so that would help. The family hasn't had a lot of colts, so it would help.
