You're speaking of the Dubai race and it IS credited. The CTBA is wrong according to the Jockey Club. I checked. The JC shows the exact same race record as the CTBA but only about $788k in earnings. Echo Eddie is not a millionaire.

Echo Eddie arrived 2nd in that race. I remember once examining a chart on his career and noticing that this particular racing start abroad was acknowledged and included as part of his overall racing record. But I also noticed that the amount of non US money he earned in that race was not included alongside the result, while the rest of his career earnings were there. I also remember reading somewhere the amount the first three finishers earned in that race (in US currency) and I remember that he earned around $300k. In synthesis, in some charts they haven't included his earnigs abroad, albeit they all have included that start. That's where the discrepancy hinges.

Perhaps some other source(s) with more accurate factual information on this issue may want to shed additional light.

I dunno then, Jorge. For whatever reason, the Jockey Club doesn't want to call him a millionaire and since they're the ones that compile the official record, I'm going to go with them over the CTBA.

If CON JUAN is given sufficient time to develop and not rush him into short-span continued competition, in my opinion, I sincerely believe CON JUAN is Breeders Cup Sprint material at 4 or 5.

I followed his sire's Restless Con racing career since he won the Haskell Invitational Handicap (Gr-1) in 1990 and later set the world record for a gray at 8-1/2 furlongs on dirt at Golden Gate and that of his progeny, and I know some of his sons need alittle more extra time to blossom. But they are serious excellent speedster, with lovely characters and above-average intelligence.

I have noticed that CON JUAN seems to like to run more near the rail (especially at the last turn) and wait until the first 2 furlongs are run. Seems like he possess the right style and pedigree for the BC Sprint.

Wish this unique gray tail-male-lineage descendant from the mighty Native Dancer all the Best,

:D

Con Juan, the only remaining entire gray-tail-male-lineage descendant from the mighty Native Dancer, proved yesterday at Bay Meadows that if given sufficient time, he may be worth the 2008 Breeders Cup Sprint field. He ran third during the first 4 furlongs (21:67 and 44:48), then advanced to second (5 furlongs in 56:62), to finally stalk during all the stretch outdueling second place finisher in 1:09.07 (hmmm, almost near the 1:08 realm). Russell Baze did a great job. Best of all, Con Juan is still maturing.
