I can't believe this is happening!

Postby sprucie » Mon Jul 09, 2007 2:44 am

I haven't posted in awhile, but I may need some help in re-homing some horses.

The financial trouble started last fall when I was laid-off, and then was only able to find something low paying. It certainly isn't anywhere near what I was making, but my husband was still working, and we were making ends meet, but barely.

He was then laid-off in April, but was recently hired back by the same company for less. We were both thrilled that he was back to work though.

Fast forward to yesterday, he had a heart attack and passed away suddenly at the age of 41! I'm not sure if his life insurance policy is active, I'll find that out later today, and if it's not, I've got to place 2-3 mares and a 2 yo TB/WB gelding quickly. I will also need to sell the house/farm we just bought last July.

I just can't believe that he's gone,

Jodie

PS...give your loved ones a large hug, and make sure they know how you feel about them!

We were high school sweethearts, and I've been with him for longer than I've been without him, together 23+ years, married almost 22. Thankfully I've got two great sons, 20 and 22, and he got to see them both finish college and get out into the working world. He was quite the man. He drove me nuts most days, but I really did love him.

Fortunately the policy is good, so that will give me a little breathing room.

I've got a friend of mine coming out to feed horses because the funeral will be out of state. All of our family is out of state too, so we are going there today.

This is soooo unbelievable!:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Sorry for rambling, but this is all hitting like a ton of bricks this morning

Thanks for the prayers, etc, they are definitely needed!

Sprucie, I am so, so sorry, I cannot even express it. Love in life is sometimes very hard to find, and then to lose it...

But ramble on as much and as many times as you want, we are here to listen and help if we can.

My condolences also to your sons, and may your financial worries be resolved quickly.

Thanks everyone. It sure does mean alot. We're about to leave for the funeral home, and to see family.

As a silly side note, I sent one of my mares to Rock and Roll on 6/20, and she checked in foal this morning. Unfortunately it's with twins that are close. We may not be able to pinch, but it may just be better to terminate the whole pregnancy anyway. And oddly enough, my husband knew she was pregnant too.

Dear Sprucie - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your sons. Nothing I could say can make the pain go away - just know that you have loads of support here and if you need to talk we are always here to listen.

May you and your sons have a safe journey.

Wow the shock of that announcement just hit me like a ton of bricks and I don't even know either of you, I can just imagine how horrific it must be for you. I am so sorry for your loss but glad that you had a lot of quality time together.
If its any consolation, I was just sitting here feeling sorry for myself because things aren't going that great right now. That all went out the window when I read this. I should be ashamed to fret over things that are so meaningless by comparison. I am just going to deal with things as they come and be grateful for what I do have.
Godspeed hubby, hugs to you and your family.
