Daaher wins, the tough prop is who runs 2nd. AP Arrow looks like Johnny on the spot to me, Brass Hat missed the boat last year.

Daaher is no gimme. McLaughlin has Dubai in mind for him and don't be awed by his NYRA Mile - Midnight Lute is no miler and he was coming back on short rest.

The weight assignments are a continued disgrace. This is a Grade I for older horses and two year old maidens carry more weight.

he's not a gimme.. roke is right. he's good but what... 2-3 months off and going a mile and an 8th.. wqhich I don't think is his best distance... against a brass hat or AP Arrow... not a gimme. i do think he is a cut above the two in talent however and not worth betting against.

I have to disagree. Daaher is IMHO a gimme.

The Jerome was more impressive to me than the Cigar Mile. He took heat there and was drawing off. He will get a much softer first 1/2 and should be able to coast home from there.

In what goes in the "shoud have said something dumbass" catogory.. i wouldn't have bet him...but anyone here who has been here for a while knows how high I am on the dubai world cup races and spring at last won there. and hasn't lost since. BuT he is like daheer and his best distance is a mile.

I thought that might be too far for him (daheer) but the way he won back at saratoga told me he should be able to get the distance... not throwing him out yet, you are right.. that was just plain ulgy. spring at last is a nice one.

this was an unplayable race.. daheer at 4/5... not going to make money betting against him, not going to make money betting with him. he's too talented to bet against.

I liked Spring At Last too, but didn't think Daaher could be beat so tried to find build a case for why he won't win, instead of making a case for him.

Daaher never looked comfortable. I still think he can get the distance, you don't win by 14 at Saratoga by mistake. Not sure if he's got his issues or not also, he looked off up front in the summer when he ran in the Prince Of Wales, and has always had time between races.

hindsight is always 20/20... after the races I remembered that he ran up in the queen's plate/ prince of wales.. if I had remembered that I would have bet against him. but even then I probably would have went with brass hat at 5/6 to 1

Daheer was simply awful - a bunch of Kiaran's horses have stunk at this meet....I wonder if he has something floating around his barn.

Mike Mitchell has a string in Florida, so tubes are easy to get, too.
