Calder Selected 2YOS In Training

Postby dray33 » Tue Jan 22, 2008 4:14 pm

Catalog is out! Looks to be a great sale, It will be interesting how the stock market, state of the dollar, state of the horse market will affect the Sale.

On a more selfish note, I have 8 in the sale. 4 with Hoby, 4 with Niall. If you are going to the sale, and are so inclined.. please stop by the barns and ask for me (Drew)... say hello, I will be down the day of, and the day before the sale... it would be great to meet some of the people from the forum.

Here are the all-stars:

With Niall: These horses will not be breezed hard (Zephyr), rather closer to a slow, two-minute lick without use of a whip:

15 - Smarty Jones filly
30 - Candy Ride filly
75 - More Than Ready filly - NY bred. Striking filly, with a striking blond mane.
166 - Menifee colt

With Hoby:

45 - El Corredor colt -
91 - Forestry colt - family of Riboletta
110 - More Than Ready colt
198 - Unbridled's Song - half to Kona Gold

That's it. Best to all...

HAhaha. That's a loaded question. Got a brief update today. The Hoby horses are breezing and coming along quite nicely. The Forestry is imposing has "the look", exudes class and everyone who has seen him has reported back with a resounding "WOW!". Unbridled's Song is fast, and beautiful... The El Corredor, though light on pedigree, might be the fastest. We just dont know. The More Than Ready is improving every day... might be the "sleeper" of the group.

The other group isn't being pressed too hard, just into fitness and appearance... they need to move well and look good. Of these, the Candy Ride always caught my eye, but they are all looking great and doing well. The More Than Ready is beautiful, like a show horse. Smarty looks like her dad, and i love her, the Menifee is beautiful too.

They are all my faves ageecee, and I am excited to race what doesn't sell.

Do REALLY well. It takes owners like you who are willing to make some sort of change to make a diffrence.

Thank you for that. ;)

We have a Cuvee that is scheduled to go to OBS March. He's one of our nicest colts. A very nice body, and a good disposition, too.

Best of luck with the the group, especially the More Than Ready. I remember her from the NY-bred sale in Saratoga last summer. I thought she was the nicest horse in the sale (but too expensive for my budget). It'll be very interesting how the market responds to your (saner) way of getting these horses to the sale.

So the breeze show is behind us, the sale is in two days. Anyone down there looking? Anyone see the videos online? Anything stand out? Thoughts?

I will be down tomorrow (Monday at about 2:00). Come find me, say hello. I have about 30 Zephyr hats to give way!

He RNA'd all the zephyr horses. Let's see if any sold post-ring.

I thought the More Than Ready filly looked NiCe.
