Hey there Howard! "The Fort" is one of North America's most historic and picturesque tracks ,slot revenues have helped it's survival since 1999 and now it struggles to survive again from competition from the casino's at Niagara Falls Canada and the Indian Casinos in New York State. The purses are respectable especially since the Cdn Dollar is almost at par with the $US. It should be a soft spot this year as several of the bigger barns have either scaled down or relocated to Woodbine which is 90 minutes away. Michigan has no racing this year so I expect some support from them, hope so anyway. I can be found in barn one next to the test barn. If you come up,wait until after April 20th,then the worst weather will have passed.

The Canadian dollar is worth 1.0182 US.

I make it a couple times each month.
If I could be anywhere at any time it would be Keeneland in the spring.

Thanks for the kind responses. I'll be sure to introduce myself as Howard from this board as I meet people at the track.

Karie, that's interesting, you would never know as there are little or no updates on the Michigan situation, would you like to elaborate here or on a new thread.

I'm so new, I'm nowhere yet, just getting into the circles so to speak.

Yes! I make my rounds to The Fort every year. Especially for the Prince of Wales. Love it.

Beautiful track, for sure.

I'm going to try and make the first race, how many of you will be there?

I will visit the barns and say hello, maybe ask some questions if you don't mind.
