Broken Vow colt

Postby LB » Sat May 10, 2008 4:30 pm

Our last mare for the year finally foaled yesterday. After three fillies, we were thrilled to get a colt. :)

We never get too many colts around here. Or very many at all, LOL. I keep telling the farm owner there must be something in the water.

Congrats, he is lovely :D

All of the Broken Vow's I have seen have such beautiful heads on them! We had a filly this year that looks like a princess! Your colt has a very handsome face.

Fillies are great btw, we are up to 15 homebred colts (plus another 8 that shipped in) and lord knows how we are going to find that many paddocks to seperate them into when sales approach

Mood Swings, this is our second Broken Vow this year and we've been thrilled with what we got. From what I'd seen of his offspring, he generally produces something big, strong, and athletic--and from our experience, he's certainly given us that. The colt above is still getting unfolded; we've never had a baby with such long legs before. :)

Here's our other BV, a filly born in January:

He's lovely and he has a very nice engine!

I'm glad your January baby is still furry too!

All our foals are still furry. The Feb. filly is carrying more hair than an Old English Sheepdog. Are yours already naked?

LB - my January colt looks like a little redheaded buffalo  The other two are pretty slick compared to him but are still a little hairy but not much. What kind of shape are yours in ?

It took me a week, but I finally got a better picture. :)

clh, the fillies are finally beginning to shed. I'm sure they must be hot with all that fluff they're still wearing.

So pretty. He just looks like a champ already. You know, it's not hardly fair if PQ folks get all the good looking youngsters. Everybody else is gonna get jealous. ;) There's something about the way he's moving in that last one that reminds me of a shot I saw of Tiznow charging toward the finish.

LOL, if he can run like Tiznow, I won't be disappointed.

We have a mare in foal to Tiznow for 2009. I'm really looking forward to that one. :)
