Well, I'm beginning to think Darley wasn't lying. We bred one of our mares to Bernardini partially based on the premise that he should have every chance to succeed early on (given the hype of his early books). If you have a chance, just check out the Bernardinis in the sale. If he can't get a couple of good runners from this group, I don't think he has a chance, haha.

I'm curious, what reason would you have had for thinking that they were lying?

Didn't...I was just kidding. I can safely say we wouldn't have paid 75k to breed to him if we thought there was something off there. Mainly just meant it in the spirit of all the questioning of ads and such that I see on the forum. A lot of people in the sport do embellish, so I guess I'm just relieved that this was not such an instance.

I think Bernardini is going to be a wonderful sire.

"I think Bernardini is going to be a wonderful sire."

Me too. Pedigree, size, racing ability, and the mares he's getting.

The Saratoga select catalog is a who's who of mares. It will be fun tracking the progress of these graduates.

Hip 173 by AP Indy is a very close relative of Bernardini, as the dam is by Cara Rafaela.

Personally, I dont think Bernardini will be a good sire. I think he'll be in the same catagory as Mineshaft, Aptitude, and Golden Missile. (Not to mention one of this forum's poster's favorite stallions, Full Mandate). AP Indy's with no speed just aren't good stallions. They may be decent broodmare sires due partly to the mares they get early in their careers, and the fact that should impart stamina into the pedigrees. But as first generation stallions, I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole.

Fireslam

You mentioned in another thread that you stand a stallion,
what is his name?
