I cannot add this horse

Help - I have tried everything I can thing of. I cannot get this horse into the pedigree database:


FORWARD HARCH (2007 ch c, Forestry - Hilarity x Kingmambo)

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

You didn't do anything wrong....it's that rotten database glitch again.

I did manage to get an entry created for Forward Harch, but I couldn't get a dam to attach to it. Best I could do was put the address of his dam's page in the comment field.

No luck on this one, I'm afraid....even tried adding him without parents to begin with, no dice.

I've got a list going; if the problem ever gets fixed, I'll add him.

For one thing theres no such horse named Forward Harch. The 2007 out of Hilarity is unnamed. You might check www.tbhorsepedigree for the other horse.

Also, I've found that the DB won't let me change colts to geldings.
I understand that this is a sensitive issue, and that the ability to do this must be strictly controlled, but sometimes ya just gotta admit it.

You should be able to 'geld' colts if necessary, unless the horse's record is locked or it has progeny. Can you let me know what horse it was, and if you got an error message?

One is named

The Guller b.h 1909
The Gull 1902 x Lady Teazle 1903

When I enter it I get the message that it was successful, but it hasn't entered.

I mean the horse database, not the race list

I was able to create an entry for The Guller, but could not attach his dam. I put her info and a link to her pedigree in his comment field, which unfortunately is all I can do until the database is fixed.

I can't enter

Whitelock horse 1851 by Ratan 1841 x

I don't know the dam yet, but Whitelock won the 1855 Northumberland Plate

I need to be able to do this because I messed up the 1855 entry on the race winners list

I need to correct it.

I found out that the pedigree is this

Whitelock horse 1851 by Ratan 1841 x Miss Martin (St Martin)

Sire and dam appear to be in the database. The entry shows the screen where it looks as if it has been accepted, but gives the link to edit the 'new' dam pedigree.

Changing the info (saying mare is dam of Whitelock) did not help.

However, the entry for Whitelock could not be made even without an entry for the dam, so I could not even put the dam's info in the info box, as you have done with other entries Lucy.

Whitelock does not seem to be locked.

Unfortunately, this is one of those cases I can't do anything about. I'll add Whitelock to the sticky thread above, so that when/if the problem is ever fixed I'll be able to pop him right in.

I'm glad you though to try adding him without a dam....that only works maybe one time out of every dozen, but it's always worth a shot.

Meanwhile, I removed the 1855 result for the Northumberland Plate.
