Dear Lucy or Rouge:
Someone removed the race record and photo of Damascus. They even took away his "Black Type." Though I noticed someone did make him black type horse again.
Sweeper, a 1909 H. Is not listed as a black type horse. I believe he won the 2000 Guineas?
Same with Bachelors Button a 1899 H. I'm sure he won several stakes in GB.
Both show up in the database as with that Bold type Blue lettering.
Both horse are locked up, so I can't do anything about it.
Thanks for your help

Ok here is a puzzler for you.
Dr. Dino (The 2002 Colt by Muhtathir) is in the stakes database as placing 2nd in the 1967 Primio Certosa, and running 3rd the next year.
Sub Rose (2005 F. by Galileo) is listed as running 3rd in the 1967 running of the aforementioned race.
Vision D'Etat (2005 C. by Chichicastenango??) Is winning the 1967/68 running of the Primio Certosa!!
Another glitch, or someone messing around again
Thanks,
Shergar

Lucy:
I noticed on bloodlines.net website they have some historic race results for several of the major Italian races. I am assuming their data is correct?
When I get a chance, I will cross-check this database with bloodlines.
BTW Add Elusive Quality to the list of horses thatr have lost their black type and information

Press reports make that sort of mistake with alarming regularity. It's always safer to double-check against a studbook when working from articles or journals.
In a perfect world, we'd be able to search by alternate names/spellings, but that's not possible the way this database is currently programmed.

Lucy, if you need to check something Italian, I bought a book called Italian Produce Records 1958-1992 at THE second-hand book store in a village near Newmarket. It has produce records like those in Meres de Gagnants in one volume, and results of all black-type races along with stallion lists in the second volume. e-mail me if you need anything in that range.
There is no such thing as too much Teddy.
