Opinion on Stratostar Hip 4077 at Keeneland

Postby Marsalon » Sun Oct 25, 2009 8:23 pm

I'm not familiar with this guy (although I should be) obviously a quality, durable runner. Any opinions on him as a regional breed to race type? Does anyone have a link to some PPs on him? What do you think he'll fetch at the sale?

We are looking to buy our first stud for the ranch out here in NorCal.

Found answers to some of my questions.

Hard knocking CD claimer. Ran at the 10k level not too long ago.

Sold at the Keeneland Jan sale for $32K (seems really high) and they raced him again. Maybe he's firing blanks.

McPeek's webpage has a race record report from 5/09:

Funny, I thought he had won a stakes earlier in his career, but apparently not. He was one of my favorite runners though, and I always liked following him.

Might be a bit long-winded for California.
