Bunch of horses not showing info?

Postby the Ol'Line Rebel » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:13 pm

Is there a major glitch again?

These horses I looked up had no info on them - unbelievable.

-Gallorette
-Challedon
-Concern

Some others I checked did have info, War Admiral and Sword Dancer.

I hope this is just another glitch that's affecting some horses and not others. I really hope no-one erased all their info.

Apparently so. Just a guess but it looks like at least 1/3 of all individuals, have lost some/all of the entries in their optional information fields. It affected locked and unlocked names. I've no idea whether it's fixable or how it happened. At present the easiest way to retrieve the information is using google search = site:www.pedigreequery.com "[Name]" (no brackets) and viewing the cached page.

If you want to re-enter information for locked individuals, please post the names here.

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to unlock Norcliffe (1973)?

Thanks :)

I added info for Norcliffe and his dam just a short while ago. PM me if there's anything else you'd like added to him. :)

The Google search for the cached pages doesn't work, probably because the site is indexed frequently by Google. Virtually every horse I've searched lately had no race / money won info, the latest being Einstein.

It varies horse to horse - I just got lucky with google on a few, but ran into the same thing you did with others, like Einstein (he's now fixed, BTW). The pages that see more traffic will be updated more frequently.

For any and all wishing/willing to re-enter details lost in the db glitch - basic info (yr foaled, state/country in which bred, color, full or partial race rcd., et al.) for NorthAm breds, many imports, and a few 'foreigners', can be obtained HERE. It's free. No registration required.

I would like to enter the info myself. But Im worried since this isnt my site.... I would make it harder on some that are really the database producers and knowledgable staff.

The db here is and always has been open-edit to encourage the addition of accurate information by informed and interested users such as yourself. It's easy. I did Via Hollywood for you, using info from the link posted previously. To re-enter info lost in the recent glitch, just pull up the pedigree for whichever name you're working on, then select 'edit' (under 'maintenance' on the main menu bar), then enter as much information as you have in the labelled fields, hit 'Add/Edit Extra Info', and voila! :D

Beware the Brisnet. I guess it's not much better than here!

When you get "2" American Eclipses, 1 born 1814 with "unknown" pedigree, and another born 1914, there's question about how correct it all is!

I was wondering what happened. I went to look up my three mares and the race data I had entered months ago was gone. I have reentered it into the database on the following mares.

Happy Anniversary - Sire - Ends Well, Dam - Spring Bride
Simons Financier and Brian Little Dixie.

Thank You for the link to this thread with an explaination.
