It's a very interesting selection for a January sale. Book 1 is as strong an an early November sale book, although things tail off sharply after that.

Some things I found interesting in Book 1:

Hip #306S is a share in Monarchos, so I went and looked him up. He is apparently not at Nuckols farm and there is no announcement for 2010 regarding stud fee, location, etc. I hope there will be one before the sale - purchasing a share would be awfully risky unless you knew where the horse will be standing. His published fee was $6K in 2009 - anyone care to guestimate what the share will go for? (My guess is $12K).

There are quite a few nice horses from the Bohemia dispersal. For example, Hip #18. She is in foal to Harlan's Holiday, however the mare was likely taken out of KY. So the foal will be KTDF eligible if the mare is purchased by a KY owner - but not KBIF? or not KTDF at all? There are many examples. The conditions are always the mystery.

clh's Malibu Beach is in there....

Yes she is - I thought she was going to be a broodmare only entry but she is a race or broodmare prospect. I'm hoping hubby isn't thinking about trying to bring that hellion back to Bridle Breezes :) these old bones can't take it. Tallulah - errr Slew's Night Moves is bad enough!

Hopefully she'll go to a great home!

Monarchos is at the farm... When you looked him up did that include making a phone call to find out?

it looks kind of silly when these boards are picked up by google that your " speculation" is there for everyone to see :D

I see they have modified his online stallion register listing and announced him standing there for $6K for 2010.

No doubt! They always have their share of foals in January and I'm always glad they do so well and look so "lively".

Yes. He was actually one of three foals to go through the ring yesterday.

Thanks - rumor has it that Malibu Beach may be returning to the track instead of going to the breeding shed.
