Native Dancer on top with his gray color on bottom

Postby Jorge » Fri Dec 25, 2009 7:55 am

Please post the name of every active gray sire you know, who owes his gray color exclusively to Native Dancer (as a broodmare sire), and also owes his tail-male lineage to him.

I am referring to cases like:

PROSPECTORS GAMBLE (gray H 1985) http://www.pedigreequery.com/prospectors+gamble

and

ROBYN DANCER (gray H 1987)
http://www.pedigreequery.com/robyn+dancer

But they no longer qualify for both are deceased! :(

Please post their pedigrees for easy check up. :D

(p.s. Be aware that grays coming from Darn That Alarm don't qualify)

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Would this be an example of what you mean?

I think what Jorge means is grays that come from the Native Dancer sire line but owe their gray coloring to having Native Dancer on their dam's side of the pedigree. Robyn Dancer was a RAN line sire but his gray color came from his dam, a gray maternal granddaughter of Native Dancer.

Thanks Linda, that's exactly my question.

The objective is to check up if Native Dancer's own gray coat color is still around in a combo along with his mightiest tail-male lineage representative, namely Raise A Native.

This as an alternative to a gray tail male lineage descending directly from him, which seems to be 98% percent extinct. The only surviving cases I know seems to come via Iron Warrior and Restless Native.

(Note: This exercise is just for curiousity, not to prove anything genetical.)

Found this one, but I know there must be other more prolific cases:

Most probably, in the near future, a talented gray daughter by the excellent sire named Kurofune (gray H 1998)
( http://www.pedigreequery.com/kurofune ), will be bred to one of the many great tail-male descendants by Raise A Native and "voila", the request of this query will be fullfilled. Until then, do you know of any worthy actual non-hypothetical case? :?:

Looks like Cashel Castle may have the ability to sire an honest percentage of winners.

Perhaps within this decade, a good gray daughter (eventually) sired by THE FACTOR (Gray H 2008) http://www.pedigreequery.com/the+factor2
may appear and will be bred to a meritorious tail-male-descendant of Raise A Native and...voila! :D

Apropos this lineage, is there any chance of a KURAFUNE sire coming to
the US. Hey this is a North American pedigree living its existance far from these shores. Makes one remember the lineage and saga of SUNDAY SILENCE.

Here is a good example. He is a well-raced Belgium based sire.

POIGNARD (gray h 2002)
http://www.pedigreequery.com/poignard

By the way how can I find more information on the performances
of his progeny?
