Nurse mare available immediately

Postby madelyn » Thu May 27, 2010 5:56 pm

One of our very best, and kindest, mares had a beautiful big colt yesterday morning. Unfortunately, he was apparently septic and did not survive.

She is a Very Wonderful mare, makes tons of milk, and is very kind and easy to handle. She is looking for a foal to raise.

Thanks everyone - it was beyond sad. First colt for this mare, Ground Queen, who'd had three fillies in a row prior. She is such a classy, sweet mare. But she knew something was wrong with the colt from the git go - she sort of hung out on the back wall of the stall. No nudging, prodding or anything - she all but told me there was no hope for him.
