She's PERFECT

Postby Tucumcari » Sun Jun 13, 2010 5:50 pm

She gives 9lbs doesn't save ground and wins like the champion she is...
The crowd was the biggest crowd H'wood has seen in maybe decades. She inspires people! She is truely what this sport needs!!! I think she is fabulous!

Martin Garcia with a picture perfect ride on St. Trinians and she still rolled by her. One of the great horses in racing history.

She is so incredible, amazing, such a champion and she knows it, that I just cannot imagine racing without her.

It's like why try...no one can get better than Queen Zenyatta so anything else any of us do will only be for us because she is just so far above and beyond that the winner of big races like the KY Derby, Preakness, and Belmont really did not matter.

Would love to see Mike Smith get her going around Belmont Park. The Queen is just getting rolling by the time they reach the finish, I would love to see them give her at least a mile and a half and watch her go....

Queen Zenyatta I do not think was even at her best today, and she beat that very good field of other mares. Then afterward she is not even breathing hard, and comes back calm and showing herself off to the thousands of fans there. A great moment in horse racing history.

Sorry, but I'm still overcome by watching her run and screaming at the tv set!! LOL

Oh, did anyone else hear someone say something about her racing in her 7 year old season on the TVG coverage? THAT would be nice, 3 BC Classics in a row..

ZENYATTA RULES!!!!!! :!: She is doing what the Great Ruffian would have done had she had the chance to...
We will NEVER see another Ruffian......

I DOGMATICALLY agree with you! This young man is something extra special!

On the Queen Z, ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!

When I think that this mare has done all that can be done, she does some more!

karenkarenn--there is a Breyer of Zenyatta. Here is a video John Sheriffs made of Zenyatta meeting her Breyer model.

Splendiferous!

Unless I'm mistaken, 17 in a row (unrestricted) has not happened since Hindoo won 18 in a row in 1881. !!!! 1881!!!!! That gives what Queen Z has done a context that ought to be mentioned sometime. It's not just the 20th century but all the way back to the 19th century. One hundred twenty-nine years.

Longer streaks I know of are by Gloaming, an Australian horse who won 19 in a row somewhere between 1918 and 192-?. But the most amazing story is of a Hungarian filly, foaled in 1874, who started 54 times against Europe's best -- and WON 54 TIMES! Undefeated in 54, lifetime. Now THAT is a racehorse, and wouldn't you know it, a girl did it!

Keep it up, Zenyatta, our world needs all the beauty and grace and power it can get.

I have to admit, I saw the reply this morning, couldn't stay up that late(Europe). But what an amazing animal she is. That's what racing needs true P.R. and all that for nothing. I would have loved to be there at Hollywood Park. That fabulous crowd and that great speaker....
We must be grateful to see this horse running, she will be legendary.

Thank you, @erins Isle! I attached the link to the results of Kincsem's 54 races to the article at Wikipedia.en.

Don't forget: Kincsem travelled by train across Europe to her races. She used to drink only the water of the Hungarian stud where she was born. One time at Baden-Baden (where she won the Grand Prix 3 times) all her water was spent and she was not inclined to drink water from other resources. Just in the very last moment she changed her mind and started drinking the water she was offered. The fountain at Baden-Baden from where this water was taken is even today called "Kincsem-Quelle" (i.e. "Kincsem's spring / fountain").

Parlo, thank you for this nice story.

A bit of attention for the second finisher: St. Trinians (TF 99, 2008) by a good sire and a daughter of a dual purpose horse.

She truly is amazing......knows just what to do to get to the wire on time. St. Trinians is a real nice horse ridden to perfection but was still no match for Zenyatta's heart, class and determination. If you want to see it again, click below. TJ

I am happy for the younger generation of fans, Z is the role model of what our tbs of the past were like, soundness galore & robust conformation, with underpining of steel. Have many great runs this year my love.

Many thanks to you who posted more on Kincsem. I got my info on another website and forgot to note that address (sorry), so doubly glad to be reminded of the Wikipedia entry. I think it is just these kinds of stories that add to the great pleasure of seeing history made in our own time and place as Queen Z writes her own book for the ages.
