well the big horse wins again...what i come away with is this...she does not care for delmars track....but needless to say it didnt matter...after dawdly fractions of 25+, 50+, 1:15+....she still did the job....all hail the greatest horse on the planet

see that's the thing Georgerz.....with a REAL pace in a race she is all that more effective ....and thats ..."SCARY"...and i doubt the connections of RA want anything to do with Z. now if you could listen in via horse talk between the two....i kinda think RA might say"bring it on you amazon"....RA is game ..no question there...it's that she's not on the same level.

you know whats funny....WINDS and MYSELF are from the east coast...you would think we would be in RA'S camp......we just realize what we are witness to.........in my humble but ZENYATTA cheerleader
opinion.

So: The Queen runs at much shorter than her best distance, her opponents run the slowest possible fractions, she's not overly fond of the track, and history is against her.
So she runs, and leaves all our best adjectives in the dust.
All hail!

I enjoyed the race on You Tube just now, unfortunately the race was at 03.00 a.m. in our time in Europe.
Zenyatta is the best racehorse in the world at this moment without any doubt. I am sure you will never forget seeiing her live at a racetrack, what a joy that would be.

I've been vacationing in Europe, and was staying up as late as I could with sketchy internet, waiting to hear the results.
Okay, so they're sending her East now (presumably mainly because they don't want to run in the Zenyatta S.
). They're heading to the Beldame, which sounds like a perfect spot for one Rachel Alexandra as well...
Yeah, Zenyatta!

Yeah, Zenyatta!

Yeah, Zenyatta!
Hi Ruffian,
I know they mentioned The Beldame as an option....but I can't see them running her in NY unless she will be staying on the east coast till the Breeder's Cup Classic.....I would think flying her back and forth twice within a 2 month period isn't something her trainer would do.....he's way to protective of his star. Besides, it will be much easier on Zenyatta to take care of number 19 right where she is.
As far as Rachel Alexandra is concerned, both the Beldame and The JCGC will be run 5 weeks after RA's planned start at Saratoga in the Personal Ensign.....it falls within the 5 week period Asmussen wants to keep RA's race schedule on....I just don't see the showdown coming before the Breeder's Cup, which by the way, comes 5 weeks after the Beldame. TJ
Zenyatta's trainer hinted in the blood horse.com that he is leaning towards staying in CAL. claims he is not a telephone trainer and does not want to stay away from his other horses that long.....cant blame him...but that sucks because i was looking forward to seeing her in THE BELDAME @ BELMONT.

But but but, they wouldn't really run her in the Zenyatta Stakes, would they? That just feels like bad karma... Would they try the Goodwood? Same timing, CA, mile and an eighth... I don't know who's pointing towards it-- Rail Trip? Awesome Gem? They'd both go to the Pacific Classic, which has the wrong timing for her.
If her connections want Horse of the Year, they have to do something different with her. I don't think she has beaten a single grade 1 winner this year... There just isn't a filly/mare worth racing in California right now. I'm not bashing her here-- I fully believe that she could win any race against any horse in training this year.
But racing is racing, and while I know she *can* win the Classic again, that doesn't mean she will. And if she doesn't win the Classic, she won't win Horse of the Year. Either Quality Road or Blame would win HotY if they beat her in the Classic. I don't think Rachel has much of a chance right now, unless she wins the Personal Ensign and the Breeders Cup Classic.
So send Zenyatta east. She'll love Belmont's wide turns, and she is better on dirt. She really is-- just watch her stretch runs in the Apple Blossom. Face some new competition-- there are a lot of classy, G1-winning fillies and mares, who I don't think can hold a candle to her.
I understand and respect Shirreffs not wanting to be a telephone trainer, but I also want to see Zenyatta reach her full potential.

You know...
either race she runs in, will be the toughest race she has all year.
Becuase by the time the zenyatta stakes rolls around, the three year old fillies will now be facing older just like the boys. Evening Jewel, Crisp, blind luck possibly.. can run.
I'm not saying she is going to lose, i'm saying wherever she runs, she is going to have to run.
