My virus blocker popped up a big red alarm when I clicked on the above link - use with caution. Apparently a lot of people are getting viruses or talking about viruses from the equinenow site.

What a coincidence! Page three (top of page), of this very same thread has a posting by yours truly exposing this suggestion!
http://www.pedigreequery.com/forum/view ... c&start=30
The suggestion also provides the argument that if the equine's phenotype is more solid color than "stained white", then the term "marked bay", "marked chestnut", etcetera can be used.
It's a way of eliminating having to enter into the more technical realm of genotypes, for the sake of keeping things "simple"
(that is "horsemen/horsewomen simple" and "pedigree-page" friendly)

The problem is it DOESN'T keep things simple. It confuses people and makes it MORE confusing then just calling it was it is.Jorge wrote:It's a way of eliminating having to enter into the more technical realm of genotypes, for the sake of keeping things "simple"
