Ack Ack

The American Thoroughbred Review published an article about five years ago about unheralded pedigree influences that leads with Ack Ack. (probably that alphabetical thing now that I think about it).

I think Ack Ack is the last of the line of the brilliant Colin by Domino. That line held on for a century. I don't know if any of his sons is still around. Sir Ack had a son that bred a few. That great line is barely a thread.

Too bad it's not around anymore and was not archived but back in 1995 I did a long in depth article on him for Hugh Finn's horse racing page. He was one of the last direct male line descendants of Colin.

Theres a stallion in Fl with 100 starts ( according to the PQ) that has ACk ACk in him through Broad Brush too. I think Brushing Up is his name.

Include has a younger full brother, Encaustic, who was still racing last year. Does anyone know if he is at stud now?

I remember that another Broad Brush son, Concern had some fertility problems (at least I think I remember that) but he had a couple full brothers. I don't know what happened to all of them, but last I heard, Lucky Clone was still standing in PA.

Unfortunately, Best of Luck was sent to Morocco & I'm not sure where Mabry's Boy is, these days.

I don't think Concern's problem was fertility but rather the performance of his get.

I have a concern daughter o/o a Dixieland band mare o/o a Mr P mare and I'm hoping Concern turns out to be a better producer of brood mares than race horses.
