Hi Griff, yes Ive had several offers but most lookers are waiting for Breeders Cup result. Of course if he wins the price tag goes up. If I dont sell her Im just as happy to keep her. She's a big, scopey mare with a lot of leg and I suspect she will throw nice foals.

Not always the case:

I once, many decades ago, I advertised a litter of 8 week old English Setter puppies in the San Antonio paper for $150 each and did not get call.. The Next Sunday I advertised the same puppies for 300 each and all sold that afternoon..

Some people may be looking for a $150k mare. Stranger things have happened

I wouldn't let go of such magnificent mare for less than 1/2 million dollars.

Go sit by the computer waiting for the pm that will never arrive. And by the way, don't hold your breath, either.

Has anyone noticed that a half to this mare is scheduled to sell tomorrow at FTK? Looks like this one is i/f Awesome Again, but it should give some view as to market view.

CT, The mare Courting Elaine in tomorrow at FT could have been claimed on numerous occasions for $7500. It will be interesting to see what she sells for. She's in foal to Awesome Again. She has no foals on the ground. Whatever she brings, Barcaldine's mare should be valued somewhere right below this one only because she has a foal on the ground that failed to perform. But you never know when these types of horses get the emotional juices flowing for those with large amounts of disposable cash.

No offence this is a $1,000 mare (who has produced no winners so far) in foal to a $35,000 stallion who has produced nothing so far.

Nothing Wise Dan can do can "add value" to this mare, he is a gelding.

This mare isn't carrying Wise Dan - she is carrying an unamed filly (alledgedly) from a dam and sire that has produced nothing with no real similarities in bloodline to Wise Dan.

Courting Elaine went through the ring @ $250k (not sold) Wonder if they will wheel her back at Keeneland?
