I don't know, must need the money. He produced nice foals from those mares (they just have 3) so curious they'd sell him. Unless maybe they are getting out of "color" and into racing. Wish I could buy him. He's cool eye candy at the very least!

He also looks to be the only stallion. Maybe they are getting out the standing a stallion?

Might be but that is only a minus if you are race breeding (to sell or make a herd). If he throws good colorful foals and they sell each year then it isn't a problem to keep him. I don't know of another stallion (offhand) close to them that has that color production and is decent looking. On the other hand maybe they are finding it just isn't a good time to be producing horses of any kind! Who knows? I just wish I had the money to buy him and the 2 fillies! :D

His fillies were on the market for quite a while, they didn't sell very quickly. They are nice fillies, could be due to bad marketing or something. If I remember correctly he is very over at the knee, but he doesn't seem to pass this trait on to his foals.

The add says he was born contracted, that would explain the knees

Contraction does not cause long term skeletal changes.

It can if it was a result of bad positioning in utero or wasn't treated early enough. Or was just a bad case that didn't respond well to treatment. But normally contracted tendons just pull the hooves out of line, it gets any worse than that it is a moot point! He doesn't seem to pass it along though.

Remarquez is the most proven thoroughbred color producer.

His foals are prodigious and he is standing stud in 2013. Beautifully conformed boy too.

This thread is referring to the following unidentified horse, I suppose:

No, the original post is NOT about Remarquez, who DOES have nice conformation. It was about some dominant white (pretty loud) stallion who I never cared for. I like Remarquez.

Remarquez

Postby MattieCat » Sun May 19, 2013 5:02 am

Thanks ACC photography! Just to clear things up- Remarquez was NOT born with contracted tendons, he is NOT over at the knee, and he produces top color and flashy solid foals who are coveted in many countries for racing, jumping, dressage, hunter/jumper, and junior mounts. My mom is putting him under saddle now and he is showing amazing promise as a potential upper level Eventer. His unflappable attitude, kind soul, and amazing conformation/movement is really gaining attention wherever he goes. With what he has produced, and what he is showing now, THIS is a boy people will want to keep their eyes on! :D

Actually, two of his last years offspring have been sent off to racing homes. Everyone will know next year if they are capable of setting some records on the track!

I am curious to see how they do!

I like his conformation probably the best of the entire Patchy Lassy line. That's a nice photo of him. Much better than the previous one I had seen.
