The insanity about the glenbuterol use in standardbreds, should stop at once and all the other medications as well.

This will become an fight. If I would set up 10 tb,s and 10 standardbreds no one in world would able to detect the difference.

Only when the breeds are gooiing to do their jobs, one will detect the difference.

I am not sure I understand your post - are you saying that you cannot see any physical differences between Standardbreds and Thoroughbreds?? Really?? Well I sure can tell the difference. Totally different kind of conformation, structure, height, etc.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

The substance of this thread hasn't anything to do with a particular aptitudinal type, Standardbred or Thoroughbred, rather the substance of this thread has to do with the discovery by the Meadowlands of the use of Cobalt as a performance enhancing dangerous drug. Of particular importance is the implementation by the Meadowlands of increased out of competition testing. Thus the follow-up thread British Racing Doubles Out of Competition Testing.

Every time there will be a new perfomance enhacing product or medication
in use as trainers and owners will try to gain an edge over other competitors.

And most of them will not worry about any side effects, because they will use other medications in trying to avoid that part.

Out of competion testing at an large scale is the only way to fight that.

This Cobalt issue we spoke about a while ago....over a year and a few months back. It brings to the fore the expense and length of testing to find fair and proper parameters to measure excessive cobalt use. This proves out one major problem in racing and the reason why....if the Feds truly are concerned and want to get involved with racing, they should fund the agency's all ready in place so they can hire more qualified help and speed up the testing procedures. It took almost a year and a half to get this done, that's unacceptable. The good news is many states will soon adopt the testing parameters presented to the racing jurisdictions by the RMTC. TJ
