I think back to the recent comments of CDI's poor treatment of Ron Turcotte and even Rick Porter.
I am running on the undercard on Black Eyed Susan day. Unsolicited, Pimlico just fedexed me 4 reserved seat and paddock passes along with parking passes for the day. A nice way to treat owners and supporters of their racing program.
What a difference.

glad to hear it. Maryland is trying hard to improve its racing/breeding programs. good luck
Re: Pimlico vs CDI
Well done, Pimlico.
Re: Pimlico vs CDI
Interestingly, this was kind of confirmed by the owners of California Chrome yesterday. Churchill, and their management seem to have a lot to learn in the customer hospitality department. As I said earlier Pimlico seems to have it down. Rather than more lip service from fat-Asher, CDI better hire a qualified Customer Service management team. Inefficient corporations get punished.
With Keeneland switching back to dirt, and with recommended changes to the triple crown format/schedule...why not consider....ah, never mind.

Steve Coburn, California Chrome's co-owner, certainly went out of his way to praise the hospitality he received in Baltimore compared to Louisville with this pointed remark:
"I've said this once, I’ve said it 50 times, Churchill Downs needs to call Maryland to get a lesson in hospitality. Because these people right here, they’ve treated us like we’re royalty, and I can’t say thank you enough.”

Churchill has been changing for ten plus years. The landscaping folks were replaced, the gate guards were replaced, the bar and kitchen staff were replaced, then the people who fired them were fired. The long time starter of the Derby was fired. In short most of the experienced staff along with their love an concern for racing were replaced . Temp employees don't built your business . Although cheaper they are fools gold.
Give the Pope and the King of England a horse and in thirty days, they'll be stealing halters.

And today the owners of Wildcat Red voice their complaints about the way they were treated by Churchill! CDI is NOT a horse racing company, they are a casino company.
Hopefully they will do something more than have John Asher make another public apology. By the way, Asher may be the longest termed active employee at Churchill, what does that tell you about the operation?

A difference of opinion is what makes horse racing and missionaries.

CDI are finally having to suffer the consequences of being SO INSUFFERABLE for so many years to the horses and the horsemen.. these short fields are going to hit them where it Really Hurts - the TAKEOUT.

Hi Madelyn,
Good to hear they are not doing well attracting big fields. CDI ruined Calder racing and finally reached an agreement with Gufstream Park to handle their racing business at Calder. Though CDI will maintain control of what they care most about....the Calder Casino. TJ
