Re: Texas Red Out
Sad, but it's good to know his connections are taking care of him and aren't going to rush him.

Re: Texas Red Out
They had publicly stated if they could have they would have sent him to the Derby without a prep. Luckily the points system has stopped that. He is a nice colt, hope to see him back in action again soon.

Disappointing, though .

And I always loved Afleet Alex, I'd love to see a son of his become a champion.

Hi Geo,
You might not have to wait long....watch Afleet Alex' son Materiality race in the Florida Derby March 28th. He has his work cut out for him taking on Upstart....but he could very well pull the upset. TJ

Thanks TJ, I do have my eye on Materiality, but it is a big step up. Here's hoping....

Re: Texas Red Out
Just got a virtual stable notification - Texas Red back on the worktab 3f @38.4 handily, 5/7 on the day.
Re: Texas Red Out
Hi Geo,
It would be nice to see him come back good. He seemed to be a pretty nice colt....but he's got a long way to go to be race ready, after an easy 3/8ths. TJ

Yes, that wasn't stellar, but at least he's back working. Plenty of time to ramp it up.

Re: Texas Red Out
Oooh, good information TJ. I'm looking forward to it - although the works have been a bit erratic so far.
Re: Texas Red Out
Texas Red worked a serious mile in 1:38.80 seconds, with the trainers brother Kent Desormeaux on board. Trainer Keith Desormeaux said he is looking for Texas Red to win first out off the layoff. TJ

Texas Red runs July 4th in the GR III Dwyer at Belmont Park. Entries and past performances in the Handicapping section for those interested, it's a tough field. TJ
