I hope he feels better soon. I have to say he's not one of my top pics for the Derby even if healthy.

Upstart breezed this AM at Palm Meadows, a swift 1/2 in 47.40 seconds breezing and galloped out 5/8ths in 59.47. He was set back just 6 days after they found out a sinus infection was the cause of the fever. Just hope he had enough time in those 6 days to ward off a relapse? TJ

Yes, a bullet work so soon after is concerning. But maybe he's just feeling really good.

WinStar Farm recently purchased an interest in Upstart from owner Ralph Evans. WinStar Farm also owns Carpe Diem in partnership with Stonestreet Stable. Upstart will continue to be trained by Ricky Violette. TJ
