Awesome. The roar of the crowd was the highlight for me.
Re: American Pharoah wins triple crown :)
Me, too! I was on my feet, screaming and crying the whole race, I had a feeling all day that this might finally be the year. Especially when Victor let him go around the last corner. I think I was hoarse by the home stretch, lol! Very emotional race for me, I am so happy I witnessed history.

I cried before the race, a total wreck. But I had a feeling deep down in my gut that AP would win it. When he turned for home and was going so nice and easy, I yelled my full head off with tears running down my face. I was nine when I watched Affirmed be crowned and have waited patiently ever since and now the drought is finally over!

Exciting to the max! While AP's Derby and Preakness wins struck me as less than ordinary he certainly passed the Test of Champions with flying colors and proved he belonged. Of all the Triple Crown winners only Secretariat ran a faster Belmont. One for the ages and a privilege to witness.

That was just so fun to watch.
Re: American Pharoah wins triple crown :)
I was glad that it was a good time and that the second half of the race was faster than the first. I think his last quarter was second only to his first quarter. Ahhh...negative splits....has worked for humans since Sir Roger Bannister. Seems like Secretariat did something like that in the Derby. Actually, come to think of it, AP's last 6 furlongs were faster than Secretariat's last 6 furlongs.

Re: American Pharoah wins triple crown :)
I've always thought the triple crown hoax or whatever was greatly exaggerated
outside of spectacular bid, who stepped on a nail pre race, and sunday silence, who had to go up against easy goer who wins the triple crown 95% of the years that it's run.. the other horses.. just weren't good enough. they were GOOD. but not good ENOUGH.
What i mean is years like Real Quiet, Smarty Jones, California Chrome, we wanted to see them win the triple crown, but they were not necessarily triple crown horses. they just weren't good enough. AP was. Today was the first time I watched a Belmont EXPECTING a triple crown win. not hoping for one.

Soooo.....does he race in the Breeder's Cup or next year?
Re: American Pharoah wins triple crown :)
I would love to see him race in the Breeder's Cup! And I know what you mean, bdw0617... all day, I had a different feeling going into this Belmont. Like I was waiting to see it happen, not just hoping it would. I've watched the replay about a hundred times this morning... what an awesome horse. I hope he passes along that fluidity of motion and kind temperament to his offspring.
(Side note: Looking at his pedigree, interesting that there's a Lord At War mare in there. Similar to War Emblem, whose dam was by Lord At War. Hmmm... now I'm curious!)
