Am PH - I pulled two reports from Equineline
5X has him a colt - http://www.equineline.com/Free-5X-Pedig ... ndicator=Y
Pedigree - http://www.equineline.com/dotFreePortfo ... l_type=pdf has him a ridgling as does the Racing Post.
Could be important No?

Hi Jolt,
He is a colt...many times young horses will retain a testicle. Most drop as they get older between their two and 3YO season. There's little doubt that AP's status has been well examined or there would have been no breeding rights deal all ready. Zayat said the original designation as being a ridgling as a 2YO was a mistake, he said he was always a colt?
Though sometimes they have to remove an undescended testicle, as in the case of Honor Code because it was painful and interfered with his running ability....this still doesn't necessarily ruin their career at stud. AP Indy was a ridgling and has passed it down to many of his colts...Honor Code being just one of them. Usually the later it takes for the testicle to descend, the less chance it will have to produce viable sperm anyway. They had to remove AP Indy's testicle and he still performed pretty good at stud:>). Though he was pensioned in 2011 due to fertility problems, he still had a good run since 1993 in the breeding shed. TJ
Re: Ridgling?
thanks TJ. What's curious is that there must be 2 separate databases at Equineline as both reports came from there.

Hi Jolt.
You're welcome. Zayat did say it was an error....though I tend to think he may have been a ridgling as a weanling and as a yearling dropped prior to the 2013 yearling sale at Saratoga. That's where the Zayat's bought him back because he didn't reach his reserve. He was listed as a colt in that 2013 select yearling sale, hip #85.
