Gunslinger

The horse won by 23 lengths at Del Mar yesterday in a maiden claiming event. Was claimed for $20,000 by Doug O'Neil off of Simon Callaghan and the Ashford/Coolmore gang.
This was his 2nd start after being bought for $625,000 at a 2-year-old in training sale. I'd be curious to know what went wrong there?

That is a little strange. 23 lengths? Perhaps O'Neill got another bargain.

It is a notable claim in that the horse won by 23 lengths, and was a $625,000 2-year-old purchase by the one of the biggest players in the game. He runs 7th in his first start in July, then gets dropped in for $20,000.
I guess I was asking if anyone knew what his physical state was? Like he can't breath, or he's bowed, or whatever?
Whatever it is it didn't scare away O'Neill. :?

Well, if he didn't vet out, don't they have the ability to void claims in Ca? If that's the case, the problem can't be that obvious.
