Just noticed this mare, Bouncer, entered on Sunday at Hastings Park for a $4000 claiming price. She is 10-years-old, has raced 3 times this year, 3rd in her last race.
What is odd to me is that she was off for 5 YEARS until this year. She is literally 10 years old and racing for the 13th time. I am not one to tell people what to do with their horses, but this just seems bizarre.
Upon further digging, she produced at least one foal in that 5 year stretch for Cal Poly. Is this done often, and am I concerned for no reason? It just seems a bit weird, and unfair to the horse.
