Incredibly happy to hear this. To stand alongside Tapit.

Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
I was hoping he'd stay in Japan. I thought he would be a great cross with all those Sunday Silence line mares over there. But, yes, this is great news for American breeders.

Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
I think it's wonderful news. They don't often come back here to stand at stud.
Speaking of which, bye bye Eskenderaya off to Japan for 2016.

Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
I am going to sound weird saying this, but I am incredibly happy Empire Maker is coming back...he belongs here, it was such a shock when he was sold. I know the reason for it, but in hindsight, it was a terrible idea!!!
There are lots of other horses we can send that can cross with Sunday Silence over there...

Ok Cree - which stallions would you send to Japan?

Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
Let's send Galileo, Australia, Frankel, and Shamardal to Japan. In one neat stroke, we could ensure world domination by the Sunday Silence bloodlines!!!! We could also simultaneously reduce European dominance on the turf. The plan is genius! So glad I thought of it!!!
Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
I am not saying these stallions *should* be sent, I am just thinking of how nice their pedigrees could match up with SS:
Philanthropist (who is now in South Africa, is a pretty decent sire and I think he could have been quite useful over there)
Student Council (might get a really really long-winded horse out of that)
Brilliant Speed
Temple City
Henrythenavigator
Spring At Last
If Point of Entry doesn't do well here, he might do well there. Not that I would want him to go, he is pretty incredible.

Gainesway, of all places
I have to admit I was very surprised that he ever left the US. I'm sure he will be very well supported next year.

So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
Oh Cree. So many of my favorites are on your list.
Re: Empire Maker coming back to Gainesway
Mine too Philanthropist is one of my favourites. Sires some serious racehorses.
But, none of them I like as much as Empire Maker! I am so glad he is coming back.
