Postby TJ » Thu Nov 26, 2015 8:13 pm

Serious group of 2YO's going a mile and an eight for the first time in their short careers. The Cigar Mile brings a nice group together including Tonalist and Private Zone...Here's the entries and pp's for both races. TJ

Cigar Mile has no speed, except super speedy Private Zone. I think he wins this, unless he's tired in any way from the BC. Or, if his pulling himself up in his workout is a sign of anything - but he always does weird stuff. Might be too much to ask Tonalist chasing after PZ.

Private Zone
Red Vine
Tonalist

Remsen is always a bit of a head scratcher for me.

Flexibility
Mohaymen
Sail Ahoy

I liked the way Mshawish trained up to the BC Mile ... Not going to go off him now, even with the change in surface! Medaglia d'Oro's don't just turf ...

Yes, he has sired several excellent grass runners, including Al Khali, Mshawish, Lochte, Coffee Clique ...
My point is, he also has sired success on dirt (Rachel Alexandra comes to mind, along with Valid and Yahilwa more recently.)
So, I think Mshawish has every chance to be just as good on dirt as on turf.

Sorry if my original post was misleading!

I like Mohaymen, but this 2-year-old crop keeps underwhelming me.

Beautiful win by Tonalist in the Cigar Mile. He took a little while to get rolling today, but did he ever look good. I can't say that was the best ride on Private Zone... the horse got taken out of his game. Maybe time for him to get a break?
