Overpriced the colt by $100,000 and trying to save face instead of lowering the fee.

Expect to see him on the plane to Australia later this year to milk him dry.

If he doesn't hit it big in his first crop I'd expect to see a crowbar taken to one of his knees, the J.T. Lundy school of horse management. (allegedly)

Of that list of horses standing for $95k-$100k, I'd argue only three earned their way there (Distorted Humor, Speightstown, Kittens Joy) and the others got there on hype.

With his sire and grandsire both available at $100k-$125k, why would you take the unproven horse at double that?

Nope. I think Empire Maker is the steal in all of this.

I cannot recall, but have they released any information on Pharoah's book being full? How many mares is he going to?
Breeding to race - $200,000 seems silly. Breeding to sell - $200,000 also seems silly. You have to sell them for $500,000 to come out on top, and your foal better be a standout among 150+ foals.

I'm not sure I'd call Empire Maker a steal at $100k, not with Kittens Joy (whose success up to this year have been with claimers) at $100k and Giant's Causeway at $85k.
