Suddenbreakingnews over Whitmore.
They came home slow, I am not confident in this race producing the next Derby winner!

Other than Smarty Jones, this race hasn't really made a dent in the Triple Crown.

Hi Cree,
That was a pretty impressive run from the winner. Your horse, Whitmore (Smith) may have been caught napping and never saw the winner coming? Internal fractions were fast for the SW....left nothing for anyone near the pace and set up the strong finish by the top two. Still have to give credit to Suddenbreakingnews and Whitmore. SBNews' trainer has always been sneaky good, but never quite made the grade on the TC trail. Should be interesting to see how this one does moving forward, reminds me a bit of Archarcharch and the run he put in to win the Arkansas Derby, where I expect we will see him eventually, after the Rebel Stakes. Here's the replay. TJ

It was certainly a long, steady drive he put in.
I didn't even notice the gelding in the PPs beforehand, he's definitely done nothing wrong in his 6 starts. I liked the way he gobbled up ground, even if it was in slow fractions. He has a very long stride.

I didn't even realize the race was being run - forgot that there are many races on Presidents Day, but I didn't get a holiday from work so I missed all the interesting things that happened.
