Ricky Violette Jr. has been a solid trainer for many years in NY and the South Florida circuit. He brought Upstart back today off a six month layoff at Oaklawn Park in the $350,000 1 1/16 mile GR III Razorback Handicap. Upstart toted top weight of 120lbs. under the Handicap conditions. Ridden to perfection by "Jersey Joe" Bravo and trained to the minute by Ricky V and his outstanding crew to win convincingly over a decent field, including Carve and Far Right. What a piece of horsemanship while Upstart won for the partnership of Ralph M Evans and WinStar Farm LLC. I'll post the video as soon as it comes in. TJ
