Santa Anita Announcer

Postby Shergar » Thu Mar 31, 2016 9:32 pm

Curious if anyone has an opinion on who they like for the Santa Anita announcers job.

Wrona and Mirahmadi have been alternating doing the Santa Anita and GGF meet.

IMHO they both have done a good job, but I am leaning towards Wrona.

Forgot to mention Craig Evans who called the races on Feb. 20 & 21, And David Fitzgerald who called the races on the 27th and 28th of Feb.

When I first heard Evans, I thought it Wrona calling the races with a cold.

I wonder if Evans or Fitzgerald have a legit. chance at the job??

Of Evans and Fitzgerald, I would go with Fitzgerald.

Denman is a hard man to replace, but apparently Wrona was given the job.

Terrible choice, his voice is terrible.

It should have been 1evans or Mirahmadi.

I like Frank. He has excellent diction, can see the shape of the race and has more of a vanilla voice than Michael Wrona, who can grate on some people. They are both excellent but I'm sorry Frank took such a big risk in quitting Oaklawn and didn't get the job. I don't know if he'll feel that Golden Gate is much of a consolation prize.

Hi Geo,
He is really good impersonator as well, this race below he called using 23 voices...they would have gotten a bargain for their money if the hired him:>) TJ

Frank is actually leaving Golden Gate this weekend. Headed to Monmouth.
