Nyquist Works at Keeneland (4/15)

A rather easy 5/8ths (1:02.60) for the Champ's first work since his win in the Florida Derby. Obviously they were not looking for anything eye catching since he wasn't dressed for serious speed...looked like he worked in polo's, yoke and rings. Unusual using polo's rather than ace's or vetrap in a workout? He did look good though...actually bordering on being bored he was going so easily:>) Enjoy the video of the breeze below. TJ

I can't WAIT for the Derby... I'm really anxious to see how he's going to do! He'll stand out in a sea of grays...

Nyquist (on the outside) worked another slow 5/8ths (1:01.80) in company with GR I winner Ralis...they went 5/8ths of a mile without much of a gallop out. O'Neil said it was merely a maintenance breeze and he was pleased with where he's at. His regular exercise rider, Johnny Garcia was in the irons for the breeze....well in hand while Johnny measured his every move. Enjoy the video of the workout below. TJ

Here's Nyquist's final Derby workout in company with GR I winner Ralis...he went a mile in 1:41 with Mario Gutierrez on board, easily shutting down his workmate. Very good stamina work. TJ
