The 142nd Running Of The GR I Kentucky Derby

Postby TJ » Wed May 04, 2016 7:24 pm

This is one of the most solid group of 3YO's in a long time. First time in a while we had no late scratches or injuries leading into the Derby. Below find the updated past performances by brisnet. The updated DRF pp's will be added when they are made available. TJ

Exaggerator
Gun Runner
Nyquist

My knock on Nyquist is that it is hard for horses to remain undefeated, especially in a field of 20 when anything can happen. He surely has earned his favoritism. I am looking to beat him though.

Longshot - Shagaf.

Not saying I'm close to being right... but I will be cheering for Nyquist.
If he can't do it, I'm hoping Creator closes for the win.

For those who value Steve Roman's data, he has Mohaymen leading in 5 of 7 of the critical "pace parameters" and is second in another. No other horse come close. I don't recall his data so strongly favoring one horse.

Jimmy Kimmel's "puppy predictor" has Mor Spirit winning the Kentucky Derby.

Might have been a false alarm...came down hard, now the sun is out? Grand Tito was injured in the paddock during the downpour, he freaked and flipped hitting his head and had to be scratched. TJ

Nyquist...wins again.
Exaggerator...a strong finishing 2nd
Gun Runner...a game 3rd
Mohaymen...just not as good as they thought.
