Not to be out done by the colts, Songbird demolished her field of fillies once again. For the first time in her career she laid slightly off the pace and went to the lead as she pleased, while winning the Summertime Oaks in hand. Though Hollendorfer was pleased with her performance he gave no indication of where she might run next. In his words, "It was beautiful the way she just settled in. I was very happy with the way she looked going down the backside. She was very comfortable, with her ears up, looking for something. The opportunity presented itself to be just a little off the pace and now we’ve shown everyone that we can do that. We thought she could do that before, but you never know until you try. We’ll try to keep her doing bigger and better things." But he was quick to add, "I think we’ll stick with the girls for now and see what happens." Watch the replay below. TJ

Smooth as silk.
They've stated on their public Facebook page they are looking at the Delaware Oaks or the Coaching Club American Oaks. Similar purses, but Delaware Oaks is not a grade 1 - of which she has many already. :-)
Delaware Oaks would be 3 weeks rest, CCAO is 5 weeks.

***Scrap that - just saw on DRF that Porter said the CCAO is next.

Hi Cree,
Thanks for that update. She's such a beautiful mover...Hollendorfer said bigger and better and the CCAO at Saratoga racecourse is just that:>) Can't wait to watch this one. TJ
